After the Navy cancelled an LCU replacement program, there was still a need for the LCU ship connector capability. This program involved a number of updates to the craft to extend their life an additional 10-15 years.
This project involved the acquisitions of a number of various barges to be used at Naval Installations throughout the world. While the acquisitions are pretty straight forward, they still require all the same rigor of a Government acquisition.
This project involved the replacement of the older Yard Patrol (YP) craft that the Naval Academy was using with newer, upgraded models. The challenges in this project were with the constantly changing requirements and meeting the deadlines of the acquisition process.
This project was the large acquisition of six (6) Valiant class tugboats utilized in Naval Region Northwest. The design was from Robert Allan Ltd in British Columbia and built by Martinac Shipbuilding in Tacoma, WA. The acquisition for this boat was actually quite rapid for its size order and streamlined greatly over the typical acquisition process.
